Folgaria for All

folgaria per tutti

Several resorts use to say that they are accessible, but Alpe Cimbra is literally accessible for everybody even when referring to winter sports. Here, the merits go to the ski school “Scie di Passione”, who realised the dream of people affected by some physical and mental issues. The ski school motto is to “live the snow in every sense by deposing every barrier”. This is translated into practice by teaching disabled people how ski, snowboard and cross-country ski. The activity of this ski school is unique and one of the best in Italy.

The ski area ensures accessibility also in the restaurants, mountain huts, bars which dispose of wheelchairs and the possibility to rent specific gears for any kind of disability.

We had a dream...

Sliding on the snow just fallen from the sky.

Breathe in the clear air of a sunny winter day, among the trees.
Forget the noises of the city to embrace the silence of the woods.
This is skiing”.
Skiing is a practice loved by many and perfected over the years in its style and materials.
For people with disabilities, whether motor, sensory or cognitive, skiing is often a distant dream.
Scie di Passione® was born out of this and seeks, through the collaboration of numerous associations devoted to the teaching skiing in Italy and in the Republic of San Marino, to give everyone a chance to experience the thrill of the descent with the adequate equipment to all disabilities.

Scie di Passione® is an association of ski instructors that promotes, through education and practice of the sport, projects targeted to both the disabled and able people.

Scie di Passione ® is therefore an ambitious project, which stems from the desire to give the opportunity to all, without distinction of nationality and of the psychological or physical abilities, to enjoy the mountains and the sport of skiing autonomously.

It promotes the integration and interaction between disabled and able bodied (acclaimed and future athletes), working, among other things, towards the adaptation and accessibility of the facilities we have to offer.
All of this is brought to life by the presence of a Scientific Committee carefully selected for their characteristics (personal and professional, able bodied and disabled), of which purpose is to design and test the activities that will then be realized and performed.
